Wood places in Oregon?

Hi all,

I'm going to be spending a week this fall in Western Oregon. I'm always on the lookout for wood. I'm not really interested in blanks that have been precut with 6 nicely planed sides. So I'm looking more for wood mills and the like or places that sell stumps, whole burls, crotches, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ref Exotic woods in brownsville

Grandpa has retired and son and grandson have moved the material from brownsville to Eugene Or. Grandpa will still be shopping but not in day to day operations. Under stand everything is under cover etc They told us new phone nr would be posted on the barn in brownsville the first of july. Perhaps old nr is still good also. Don. I have gotten myrtle and big leaf maple from Campbell's in Mapleton (On the road that runs from Eugene to Florence). A friend of mine was recently there and says they are still open for business-small family owned and helpful

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck? Whatever happened to quality over quantity, wonders Shorty Campbell? At least he did wonder until he decided to open up Campbell's Special Wood in 1994. He buys high-quality maple, myrtle and white oak, then sells it to people to build entertainment centers, coffee tables and the like. And it's not just any maple, myrtle and white oak in his inventory. He could look at 100 pieces of wood and only buy one, Campbell says. (Just don't ask him to build anything with the wood: "I should never build anything but barns and bridges," he says.)
