WTB - Stronghold Chuck

Sep 12, 2003 13 Replies

Greetings!

After doing my research and comparing features of one chuck to another, I have decided that the Oneway Stronghold chuck seems to meet my needs as far as I can imagine (plus a little for good measure).

However, now that I have made this decision, I need to find it.

At this point, the best price I have found is directly from Oneway at $259.

Does anybody know a better location for a better price?

thanks!

Rob

House of tool got a great price on oneway chuck.

The US/Cdn exchange rate isn't perhaps quite as favorable as 50% but still good for you. Their price on a Stronghold with #2 jaws and adapter etc is $340 Cdn. They do ship to US. I don't think you'll find a wide range of prices since Oneway seems to like to keep them in line from what I understand.

Take a look here

Price appears to be $290 Cdn not $270. Word of caution, Is the adapter included ($27)? Price still good even if not. Billh

Yep, great folks to do business with! He needs the money too, just got back from a long extended vacation$$$$>

Thanks for correcting me, must start cleaning my glasses more often. James Barley.

OneWay will ship freight free on US$100 and no sales tax, I believe

As I'm sure you have already figured out, the quote from Oneway for $259.95 is in USA Dollars. The price of $269.95 listed on the House of Tools website, a Canadian company, is in CANADA Dollars. Given the current exchange rate of about .74 USA Dollars per 1 Canada Dollar, the price from House of Tools is equal to $200 USA Dollars. Plus shipping. I don't know about you, but I'd rather pay $200 USA Dollars plus shipping for a Stronghold chuck from House of Tools than $260, shipping included, from Oneway direct.

I ordered my Delta Midi lathe from House of Tools last fall when they had a great sale price and it arrived just fine. $235 USA Dollars delivered.

Your right, I assume the quote from Oneway was in US dollard.

In fact (if we talk in can $), I could get a stronghold from house of tool at 290$ (the adaptor is in extra there). Oneway quote me (and lee valley) 339$ for the same package.... I'm wondering if this prize will last long?

If you are in or near Ontario Canada, wait until the first weekend of October and go to Woodstock and buy the chuck directly from Oneway at the show in Canadian dollars.

What (and where) is woodstock?

The only woodstock that I am familiar with was a music festival in the late

60's.

Living in the Detroit area, ontario is not that far away. but, before I plan a road trip through the tunnel (and customs), I would need to know what it would cost (in CA$) so I could figure my savings out.

Rob

I went last year and saw Dale Nish demonstrating. Jacques Coulombe was there selling woodturning tools as was Paul Ross and of course Oneway manufacturing.

hundreds of other dealers. It took up 5 or more buildings at the úirgrounds and several large outside tents. It is easily the biggest =woodworking show I have seen. Easily 5 - 6 times larger than the =Woodworking Shows that go from city to city around the US.
