In the back of my mind, I knew I wanted to try a pi shawl someday...

But technically that's not a Pi shawl. A Pi shawl is just a circle, knitted in the round, add lace patterns as you see fit. Flory's shawl is more of a ruana that happens to be semi-circular at the closed end :D So really you have two (more) projects!
