I have a terrible habit on forgetting to cross my cables at that all important row. Because I am doing an Aran sweater with a million complicated cables, I am afraid to rib it out and I can't stand to see an uncrossed cable. Is there a cheater way to cross this cable without ripping out? Or am I doomed....?
Is there any way to fix an uncrossed cable without frogging?

When I used to (or still do!) do this, I just rip out the cable (make a
4-stitch or whatever "runner") back to the offending row, fix it, and knit back each row of the runner --usually with little dpns--smaller than gauge (it'll all even out) till I'm back to the row with the rest of the stitches. It's time consuming, and requires patience, but it beats ripping all the way back to the uncrossed row.

Yes, I have ran into your problem several times.
Just rip out the stitches above the missed cable instead of the whole row. It takes some patience and learning but, it is the best way.

Two ways that I remember are (1) a method of duplicatestitching over it, and (2) a method of snipping one stitch, reknittingjust the miscrossed area, kitchenering and invisibly mending with a small piece of the same yarn.=Tamar
