Just in

Tee Hee

I'm going to visit my daughter in 3 weeks, and here's the e-mail I got today.....

"That yarn I ordered has just arrived - bring your knitting needles".

(she had asked me to knit a sweater for my dear 9 y/o granddaughter), and the yarn is Bernat Velour in a deep plum colour. I just hope she takes care of this sweater because I think it will fall apart quickly - it's a chunky or bulky weight velour (chenille?). 9 sts to 4" on 6.5 mm needles. It should knit up quickly, but I'm not sure I can finish it in 5 days, and have fun too.

Hi Shelagh,

True, you want to have fun while you are there, and not have to knit every minute. The color sounds pretty, I'll have to look for it when I go to AC Moore the next time.

Hugs,

Hi Shelagh

That's a lovely colour, and the yarn is one of those that will knit up into a huggable sweater :) I was looking at this yarn the other day, and it doesn't seem to have the solid core that some chenilles have, so I thought it might fall apart easily as well. Maybe a cardigan would be an option; it would have a shirt underneath and might not need as much laundering?

But isn't it wonderful to be appreciated as a knitter?

I just did a zip up sweater with Bernat Velour, using worcested for arms and collar as all Velour was just too heavy. It was for a four year old and I did it in two evenings. I don't think you'll have any trouble finishing one during your visit.
