Great job, Nora. I was wondering, you make so many things do you keep a journal of what you made?

I keep a "journal" as well. It was from the Dollar store, but works just fine. I also take pictures of my FO's.

December Finally - my ice blue Patons Up Country sweater. I do still want to put a zipper in it though. The fronts just curl way too much and will be better managed with a zipper. However..... try to find a separating zipper these days. People just don't sew at home as much as they used to.

Also done - a pair of gloves from self patterning sock yarn. I haven't made gloves in a while, and it shows.(laugh). I have small hands, and even though I tried to "knit to fit", I'm sure the next pair will be better.

WIP - that beautiful Peacock Feathers Shawl.... I've decided it will be my NYCO.

My felted slippers have worn through on the heel, so have to fit knitting a new pair in as well. I was a bad girl yesterday - Elann had some lucious looking 100% wool on sale - it's Schoeller Stahl "Landlord" - in a thick 'n thin yarn - probably a chunky(?) or bulky - 11 sts to 4". I ordered two colors, and plan to make felted bags from it. Can't wait til it arrives! Heh, heh.

Boy, I certainly didn't get much accomplished this past month...3 6x6 squares and 1 dishcloth.

WIP's Baby hat (was supposed to be a hat and sweater set, but I decided that I didn't like the pattern. So, I'll just make the hat.) DS's sweater, that I haven't worked on since the summer

And I confess....I started my 2006 NYCO 3 days early. I need it for January

14th, so have knit a little on it.

Joann and Hancock both carry separating zippers - in a variety of lengths, but somewhat limited colors. You can probably order them online, too.

December FOs:

Four pairs of socks One pair fulled slippers Two shawls (don't be impressed, triangular garter is mindless...) Two baby sweaters Five caps, assorted Many many many muppet scarves cranked on the Barbie Knitter

I also ripped back my Russian Prime, rather severely. The sweater has been finished for over a year but I wasn't happy with the shoulders or sleeves. So I took a total of four inches off the shoulders (which coincidentally took 4" off the sleeve diameter) and I'm now halfway through reknitting the first sleeve. I have to decide how to finish the neck, too, as I wasn't very impressed with my applied Icord finish made per the pattern.

Spinning: many pounds of Just Plain Wool, including some scrumptious Texas ramboulliet that I'm knitting up as a Circumnavigated Cardigan. The sleeves on this sweater are also giving me fits for some reason, but after ripping out the shoulders and reknitting htem four times in an effort to get the sleeves the size I want, I've thrown up my hands and decided to work with what I've got. The damned thing should've been finished more than a week ago, but I'm only a few inches into the first sleeve, for about the third time.

WIPS: socks. More pairs than I can justify. Must finish the mates! Circumnavigated cardi. Russian Prime overhaul. Fiber prep so I have something to do after surgery.

Time to wash the dog, what fun.

Hi Marie. Muppets are tubular scarves made of one hank of yucky nylon eyelash yarn; I or my son cranks them on a little plastic kiddy knitter that I picked up at a garage sale for about a dollar.

The Circumnavigated cardigan is a knit-from-the-middle-no-seams-anywhere sweater designed by a Big Girl for other Big Girls. It'll work with any yarn, any gauge, and any target finished chest size - you just have to be accurate in your measurements and consistent in your gauge. I'm using handspun for mine, which I think accounts for my sleeve issues. While my OVERALL average gauge is consistent each ball of yarn I spin varies somewhat from the others in its grist, and that affects the gauge I knit.

Anyhow, here's the current project list from Medrith, from which you can order the pattern:

And Wooly speweth as well:

I'm in Canada, and don't have those stores. I'll be heading into the big city this week where we still do have a Fabricland. They should have separating zippers there. I doubt I'll be able match the colour, but will take a white one if I can find it. I tried Wally-Mart, but they only have black and brown separating zippers. ;>P I wonder if Michael's and Lewiscraft carry stuff like that?

Michael's carries a mending kit, which is about as close to a zipper as I've ever seen in one. No idea about LC, we don't have those here.

A galpal in one of my knitting groups convinced me I need the pattern. I've had it crawling around for years, finally got around to making it up. The purling is something of a PITA, the pockets aren't quite to my liking proportion-wise, and there are a couple of other changes I'll make to future iterations. Ya gotta start somewhere, yes?
