Knitting Group Meeting

May 17, 2006 6 Replies

I went to my regular knitting group meeting tonight and it was very enjoyable. We are thinking we might have to move to another venue as we are running out of room. This is good - more people means we need more space.

We have already begun to plan for our summer knit-out to be held in August, as well as a summer outing. The summer outing will probably be on a local vintage railway train which travels from just outside the city and comes close to where I live out in the country.

Our "learn something new" tonight was domino knitting, and everyone had fun with it. I realized later that I had been using that principle to knit one of my felted bags a few weeks ago.

Another regular item at our meetings is show and tell. One of the women is making a gorgeous blanket and part of the construction actually uses the domino principle to make a stylized maple leaf. Another lady was making those round bags with the drawstring at the top out of cotton. I showed off the two pairs of socks I'm making.

It was a fun, interesting evening. Gotta love my knitting pals!

This sounds Fun i love Domino knitting mirjam

It's a type of double knitting, and there's a book with exactly that title. Find details online or check your library service.

Domino knitting is a type of modular knitting. I used the technique for some 6x6 squares. Go to

Thanks, Sue.
