m to yds

Pattern reads (50g/125 m balls), 700g or 25 oz Anny Blatt Merino...not using that yarn but another merino, what yardage do I need?

Thanks in advance, Dawn0

Well 700g is 14 times the 50g/125m balls so you'd need 1750m which is about 1914 yards (1 meter = 1.0936133 yards).

Hope that helps.

You're kinder than me - I'd have simply provided the multiplier and let the OP do his/her own math. I'm mean that way, I am...

No...you're not...;o)

I seem to remember a recent post about a Stocking Cap that you totally went the extra mile to help. Also, I know you have helped me lately...for which I thank you again.

Just to provide the opposite opinion (smile). I work with length, provided I can work to the gauge specified.

Well, you're welcome.

But there's a big difference between "I see how this works but I'm having trouble figuring out how to make it work with MY numbers"

And

"Gosh, somebody look up the multiplier and then do the math for me."

As the parent of a 9yo who doesn't see the merit in doing his arithmetic homework I've become quite immune to the latter. But I'm a sucker for problem-solving :D

New on this newsgroup, so I'll introduce myself with something that I hope may be helpful.

Google will do the maths for you. You can just type something like "700g in oz" or "125m in feet" into Google, and it will come out with the answer.

Wow, that could be useful. They show examples such as "half a cup in teaspoons", which I would know how to figure out, but this is certainly quicker.

Also, my favorite, "25 mpg in kilometres per litre". That's always a real pain in the neck because of the double conversion.

I wish they offered an offline version to use with google desktop.

While that would be useful, it'd just add MORE google spyware..... JM2C, Noreen
