OT: All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go

It's more like almost packed and ready. Tomorrow, I have to get up before the birds for an early flight to British Columbia. I will be participating in an Elderhostel program that begins in Victoria and ends in Vancouver. I look forward to seeing the sights and enjoying some Canadian hospitality.

Happy Independence Day to all my American friends.

Chances are... depending where you are, and who you're with... you could still get to celebrate with some fireworks, if you'll be close enough to the border.

And showing my ignorance (once again... I have no shame. LOL), what is an Elderhostel program, please?

I hope you have a wonderful time here in southern BC! What does your particular programme involve?

hospitality.

Hey Gemini, you are not ignorant but just way to young to know about Elderhostel. ;-) It's an organization that provides educational group travel for people who are 55 and over. The programs usually include both lectures and field trips and take place all over the world.

hospitality.

It's called Historic Harbours & Gardens of Victoria and Vancouver and features visits to Butchart Gardens plus several other gardens. There will be lectures on topics like maritime history and architecture of the area.

I love Butchart Gardens! DH and I have yearly passes there and often spend time wandering around. There are lots of beautiful gardens in both cities. I'd love to hear your impressions when you get back, (on or off the ng.) It's always interesting to see one's home area through other people's eyes.

Too late! As soon as I saw the original post yesterday, that song popped into my head and I was singing it in front of the computer. ROTFL
