Ready to go

Does anyone else tweak the purse they take traveling? I have added several pockets, a strip of elastic with 1/2"-1" channels to hold pens, gum, nail file, etc. and a couple of those handy dog-clips to anchor keys, mini-flashlight, etc.

I'm packed (mostly, I keep thinking I should add "just one more long-sleeved shirt...or how about that favorite T?"), I just have to throw in the last minute things, and we're off to the Grand Canyon. I finished the navy suit, and I'm happy with it, though I'll make some alterations to the pattern next time I make it up.

Have fun, and play nice while I'm away. ;-)

Have a good time.

You *do* know that the Grand Canyon is just the world's largest painting, don't you? Not real. Nope. But don't go too close to the edge anyway. The easel is set down below and it's quite a drop. ;-)

I shan't bother going then.

But you've got me wondering about our cruise - are the Northern Lights real???

I'm back from Cali-for-nye-A, and yes, I tweaked the bag I took. I had made this bag to match a vest (both from an upholstery fabric remnant) and originally had two flat pockets on one side of the lining and two shallow, pleated ones on the other. These latter simply did not work as I had hoped, so before we left I unpicked them and put in a wide, flat pocket with a button at the top to hold checkbook etc. safe. I also added an outside pocket, almost as wide as the bag but two-thirds the height (I had enough scraps to match the fabric pattern) to hold plane tickets and such. The original closure was a cord loop and a button from my stash (everything in this bag was from leftovers!!) but I have decided it really needs a zipper top for travel, so found a more-or-less matching zipper in the stash and will once again unpick the lining, then add the zipper.
