ot Dennis checking in

I am sorry, I have been in the hospital for 3 weeks and home since Friday. I fell in the bathroom and finished rupturing L5 in my lower back. When I went to the hospital and the doctor did an MRI he decided C3 in my neck was worse and operated on it. It solved several problems I have had. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise. I see the doctor Thurs. and will see what will happen with L5. 9 of the days were in a rehab hospital because of my lower back.

Gail is doing ok with her ALS, she is in good spirits.

Tammy our daughter and her doctor are pretty sure the cancer is gone again. She sold her salon and moved to Omaha with her husband's job. She said she is going to stay home with her two babies for a couple of years. Ava just turned 5 and Max will be 3 in Dec.

Well I had over almost a thousand messages and will not try to read them. I hope all is ok good thoughts for any special days I missed.

I missed Noreen's trip, we will meet some day I was in the hospital before you left I think.

Hugs & God bless, Dennis & Gail

Dear Mirjam,

Thanks so much for the wishes. I had the computer at the rehab home but used it one time to pay bills and turned it off.

Please keep in touch.

Dear Olwyn Mary,

So nice to hear from my friends in rcty. I think I went in the hospital about the day Noreen arrived here, we missed each other. I really wanted to meet Don and Noreen.

Thank you for the kind words and thoughts.

Are things back to normal for you in New Orleans?

Hugs & God bless, Dennis & Gail

Dear Murielle,

Thanks for the thoughts. I truly believe that my friend,s thoughts and prayers pulled me through. My spinal cord at C3 was compressed 30%, they missed that at Mayo. Mayo is still the best diagnostic hospital in the world but, all take notice even the best miss some things. I never thought of it until my brother-in-law mentioned it. I also had many visits to Loyola University Hospital in the Chicago area. They are rated in the top 5 in neurology, I went there after going to the doctors in the Rockford area. I still need to get L5 fixed, I see the doc tomorrow. We will see.

Thanks so much.

Hugs & God bless, Dennis & Gail

Dennis,

You should know us better by now - no need to start out a message like this with an apology! I'm sorry to hear about your fall but glad they "caught" something else that needed fixing (well, I'm not glad that there was something that needed fixing but that it is now fixed - hopefully you get what I mean). Is there more surgery in your future for the L5?

I'm very happy to hear that Gail is in good spirits and that Tammy's cancer is in remission. Best wishes to all three of you. How far is Omaha from you? Those babies will be happy to have their mom home with them though it will probably be a bit of an adjustment for Tammy. I wish her the best of luck.

Dear Laura J,

Thanks so much for the very kind words. I do read all messages to Gail, she always gets a big smile.

Yes L5 is ruptured instead of bulging now, it is constant pain and will need more than an injection. I see the doc Thursday and will keep in touch.

Tammy is about 8 hours from us now, instead of 2 hours. We will surely miss them. She did say it will be an all day job when she comes to see us, it really tickled me to hear her thinking of coming to see us soon. Tammy has the motivation of ten Marines, she will be fine. She is a great Mother and I am so proud of her and John.

Hugs & God bless, Dennis & Gail

Welcome back Dennis, you have been missed.

That must have shaken you badly as well as being damaging. I do hope the pain eases for you but it is good news that a couple of problems have been solved for you and that Gail and Tammy are doing well.

I swear that somebody "up there" is looking after you. Do take care and much love to you both ((((Dennis and Gail))))

I am busy - even busier than last year. But I am enjoying it, still, and that is the important thing. Also, I am learning, which I love. I think that Keith is wishing that I was home, but he will survive this separation, and I'll be home several times during the year.
