This happened at church today in the nursery:
I was there with Lammy, the nursery worker, Lammy's friend Margaret (who is from Tunisia), her friend Emily, and two older children, Alyssia and Megan White (this is important to the story).
The pastor came in to say hi, and was suprised see Alyssia and Megan there because they had been out of church for several weeks with ear infections, brohchitis, and all sorts of colds. So, in her surprise, she says, "It's so nice to see the White girls in the nursery today!"
Without missing a beat, Margaret says, "It's nice to have the black girls here too!" The pastor was beside herself and realized how her comment must have sounded. We were all laughing so hard! So, she added, "It's nice to have the black girl and the Asian girls here too!"
