OT - Just got this in my email (from someone I know)

Most of the virus warnings and other chain types of emails I get are just plain text, and couldn't have this type of birus attachment. However, yes, if an email is in html format, it can have all sorts of nasty stuff attached or embedded.

Yes, absolutely. It annoys me that when you install Outlook or Outlook Express, the preview pane is activated by default. Something so dangerous should not even be included in the software, in my opinion, and absolutely not by default.

I have the paid version anyway, as I have to check email on three different accounts and the free one is limited to one account.

Within the last week I have received an email where the subject line says "none" and there is no From address on it. Yes, I clicked on it once wondering what was going on that it didn't show a return address..... and there is nothing at all in the body of the message either. So now, I just put them into the spam folder and delete them.

When you get anything like that Gem click on it with the other mouse button and go to properties and look at it like that then at least you can see what is what...but deleting it is best. hugz Cher

Oh and another way of stopping virus's spreading through your emails although if you have one it won't stop it staying with you, but when a virus wants to replicate itself it goes to the first name in your addy book, and so if you make two or three bogus emails that bounce like snipped-for-privacy@aaa.aa.aa and then snipped-for-privacy@aaaaa.co.uk or com whatever and maybe throw in a few numbers one as well like snipped-for-privacy@3333.co.uk the virus as I say goes to your addy book, hits one of those and bounces back, then it tries the next two, with bouncing it then stops or just keeps bouncing unable to get through to the other addy's. I know it sounds daft but it works. hugz Cher
