OT News....

WOOHOO.... Our pool is up and running! Matthew tried to put the contraption back together by himself over the weekend (which he had never had to work on before) and the joint between the pump and the pump pot (that had been cracked and leaking, but was fixed) was spritzing water everywhere when we turned it on. So I called in our friend who has had a pool for years, and he tightened the nuts and bolts up a bit more saying "Because of the seal inside, when you tighten one, another will loosen. That was all that was wrong with it... Matthew just didn't realize that they all needed to be tightened more after going around once. :o)

And our own van is back with the sliding side door fixed like new! :o)

The only downside to the day (knock on wood) is when I was walking back from the pool to the house, a bee stung me on my toe next to the baby one... in between where it was hard to get at. It's been years since I've been stung. I kicked off my sandal and shook my foot, but he stayed there between my toes, so I spread my toes and he flew away. I put my sandal back on and started walking and felt this sharp pain, but couldn't see what was going on... I just figured it was because of being stung. When I got in the house I grabbed my glasses and sat under a light... the stinger was still in my toe... no wonder it was hurting so much! :o( I got the stinger out, squeezed the area as much as I could stand, and put some peroxide on it. My toe is swollen a bit, but not half as bad as it had gotten once before when I was stung on the toe. Come to think of it, I think it was the same toe on the opposite foot last time... my entire foot swelled up like a football and I couldn't put sandals on, which I didn't mind too much because I like to be barefoot in the summer.

Ouch! I hope that your poor toe feels better. I find that a paste of baking soda and water is better for taking the sting out. Glad to hear that the pool is up and running.

Hi Gemini,

What the doctors here recommend is Adolphs meat tenderizer in a paste on the sting. Also Benadryl for the pain. Tom has a bad reaction every time he gets stung so we keep some of both here.

Hugs,

Nora
