OT: OlwynMary in New Orleans

Hi Guys, I don't post her but my friend Olwyn Mary who lives in New Orleans does. I spoke with her this morning and she asked me to post to let everyone know that she and her DH are fine. Their house is in the Lower Garden District off of Magazine St. and is on a small ridge. The house is also built up above ground a good bit so they have had no flooding. They haven't had any power since about 3:00 AM Monday but they do have a battery operated radio and telly. Food and water are in the freezer so they have enough for a little while as it will take some time for anything inside to defrost. She did say that, if it will be some time before power is restored, they plan on leaving town as soon as the airport opens. They obviously have their land line phone and have been in contact with family. I am apparently the only one of her online friends who has her number as we met last year at Mardi Gras. She was very happy to hear from me because she knew I would let everyone online know she was OK. I will also be posting to the alt.sewing group and the AOL sewing group for her. If you know of any other boards that she posts to, please let them know that she is safe. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Thanks so much, Tia Mary. I was wondering today how OUR Mary was in the aftermath of Katrina. If you are talking to her again, please tell her that we are thinking of her and praying that everything will get back to normal soon.

Hi Tia Mary,

Oh thank you for posting for her as I was worried even though she had told us her house was on a higher level. The pictures that I've seen on TV are scary and I did wonder if she was all right.

Tell her many prayers are going there for her and everyone down there.
