Speaking of sounds that scare animals... our oldest dog is terrified of thunderstorms, but our youngest dog takes it in stride... after coming to Mama to be assured that everything is okay. In fact we had a thunderstorm last night and Casper & I sat in the foyer watching the show for a while... Buffy on the other hand was in the laundryroom whimpering and shaking like crazy, Matthew went to quiet her down.

Oh, how cats hate loud noises they can't identify or control. I'm wondering how our 4th of July will fare, now that we have a third cat that hasn't been through it before in our house(I'm not sure if he was born the beginning of June or July last year.) I hope you cat has since calmed down.

We had a cocker spaniel once that hated thunder, Halloween (constant doorbells), and the 4th of July! she would hide when she heard these noises. Once after a thunder storm, we could not find her for quite a while. We finally did once we heard her wimpering. She had gotten stuck under a couch in the family room. She was so chubby that she couldn't get out!
