Gem, David was here while YOU were 'off'... then was gone (assuming while I was 'off') I'm sure he enjoyed the welcome! Noreen

David you've already got some answers to your question so I also just want to say 'hello' and welcome!

My pleasure. Actually, your question caused me to learn something myself, so it was doubly good.

I'm in Duncan, just a few miles from Els.

Do you live in the downtown area of Vancouver, or further out?

Yes, I'm in the West End, about a block from the beach and Sea Wall. I've been in this apt. for the past 13 years, so far have lived in the Lower Mainland since my birth. I love the combination of city and nature very close by. :)

It *is* a special combination, isn't it! I think, if I lived in the Lower Mainland, yours is the area I would choose, with the Granville Island area a close second.

Eimear,

Granville Island is a few minutes away by a small "ferry" which takes foot passengers from the Sea Wall to GI and/or back. Pleasant little excursion... and now that I'm thinking of it, I wonder if there are any stores there which carry yarn-related stuff... *grin* I want to get some afghan hooks and start playing around with those...
