Question about Tapestry crocheting

I have been experimenting with tapestry crocheting every since I stumbled across it a few weeks ago. In all of the web sites and directions, it says to work in a spiral. I want to work in concentric circles so that there are no jagged lines showing beginning and end of rows. ....SO....My question is -- Is there a simple way of doing this that I haven't thought of or am I grasping at a Holy Grail of Crocheting?

Thanks for your time Lion

Hi Lion!

I have made some tapestry crochet project in the past. You do work in a spiral without finishing the rows with a slip stitch and you are supposed to use a stitch marker if you want to remember the beginning of the row while working.

Happy crocheting!

I've never heard of tapestry crochet, but most crochet that is worked in the round is done in a spiral, the same as knitting is. However, with crochet as I understand it you can end it on any stitch you choose, so I think all you have to do is just make the last stitch of the round and maybe attach it to the first stitch. It may be necessary to break the yarn and weave it in so that the jump to the next round doesn't pull the lower row up. Of course that way you can also begin the next round at any point you want to.
