What a great weekend. Lots of fantastic yarns, tons of patterns and goodies every where. The disappointing part is that most of the current designs are slanted toward the beginning knitter, with little or no shaping, and one size fits most. New in my stash, hand dyed silk for a shawl, several hanks of hand dyed wool/angora cause it was pretty, and lot of sock yarns in rainbow colors. DA

Sorry you weren't pleased with the designs, DA, but at least you have some new yarns, and that's *got* to be a good thing.

You said it. Lovely weather, too.

I did see some designs influenced by Loop de Loop. Lots of handpainted yarns, to the point that it seemed unusual to see single-colored yarn. I noticed a lot of deeper shades, for winter I suppose.

New in mine: glow in the dark yarn (I couldn't resist, and it really does glow in the dark, bright enough to see it in a mirror), some cotton in the exact dye lot I needed more of, and some froghair fine silk at an unbelievable price from a booth selling Orenberg lace shawls - patterns, thread, and for the impatient, completed shawls.

And Stephanie Pearl-McPhee signing her new book!

Tamar: Please tell me where you were able to get Glow in the Dark yarn....I'm almost out of mine and Fiberheartstrings doesn't offer it anymore! I'm in dispair! Marie and the cats

Sounds like you had a great weekend. Great choices on the yarns you got, sounds exactly like I would have bought (great minds think alike LOL). Marie and the cats

I got it from:

Woolstock Knit Shop 4876 Butler Rd Glyndon, MD 21071 410-517-1020

It's called "Night Lights." The show price was $9.95 for a 2-oz ball, about the size of sock-weight yarn. I don't know what the shop price would be.
