Very good, Mirjam! Now, would someone like to either burn my calories FOR me, OR would they like to give their own burnt calories TO me? (I'm NOT bragging, but ... well... to be honest, I don't NEED to burn them!) Hugs, Noreen

I heard somewhere that crocheting uses fewer calories than knitting, but at 35 calories per hour, it probably doesn't make a big difference. Anyway, were they counting the calories burned when frogging? I bet they weren't.

Hmm. So typing posts on the net burns 40 calories per hour? It's the twenty-first century diet!

*big chuckle* Apology unnecessary! My comment was in teasing *grin*

Come to think of it though, do women and men burn calories at different rates? who burns more for the same activity(ies)?

cheers,

David

And then, Tamar, there's also the times when the yarn you're working with just does NOT interact with the needles or hook!!!

*chuckle*

David, The average man burns calories more efficiently than the average woman--and over the same amount of time and with the same amount of physical activity. Men burn calories faster for two reasons. One, they are usually heavier and are burning more calories all the time. Two, they have a greater proportion of fat-burning muscle. As a result, the average basal metabolic rate in women is 5 to 10 percent lower than in men. Susie

Thanks susie! Do you work in a dietary, athletic or medical field of some kind?

Cheers,

David, No I don't work in the field. I have lived it for almost 50 years and I do tons of research on the internet. Have a great day, Susie
