Probably not quite as quickly as I'd like. I'm hard into 2 Christmas projects right now that require all my knitting time. Plus, rather than make a plain pair of socks (which would be fine)..... I'm leaning towards trying the Pomatomus socks from Knitty, and something tells me they aren't easy. One of the women in one of my knitting groups has a pair started in a variegated yarn and they look awesome. Go here to have a look, but be sure to scroll down to the pic near the bottom. The top pic is a little "twisted" (snicker):

For me, this would be a good thing. I have small feet (size 6), and usually have to make the pattern smaller. That's why I usually use the same plain pattern and a variegated yarn, casting on only 68 stitches or less, using

2.25 mm needles. If I don't use less stitches, the socks can tend to bag on me. I also find that throwing them in the dryer helps too.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye out for how they will fit, and report back. I thought it would be fun to try something different. ;>)

Well, let's not be too sure about my ability to make them yet. I'll give it a try and see how it goes. (grin).

Many of Nancy Bush's sock patterns (in Vintage Socks and Folk Socks I think) are smallish - she has a small foot too.

Have any of you seen the gorgeous entrelac socks on Eunny Jongs blog? I think it's called See Eunny Knit. That pattern has me in as much awe as the Pomotomus socks! Marie and the cats
