I did not get an invite for the Yahoo group, but I'm going to stay here..... I joined a Yahoo group once and ended up with all kinds of spam from yahoo.

Hi, Bonnie! Good to see you! I ended up joining the other group, but prefer it here! Hugs, Noreen

Then I can comfort you, Marilyn! Make the squares smaller than 6x6, and crochet an edge around till the square is 6x6 (If you do not crochet, I hope I didn't scare you :-)LOL!)

Or do the square *slightly* smaller than 6x6, then it is easier to adapt it, than if it is much too big.

Glad you joined, because what I am most afraid of, is that lurkers and new members, never join the 6x6, because they are too modest to ask for an invitation. I think we shall remeber to tell about 6x6 to new members here! AUD ;-)

Aud, thankyou for the hints. Crocheting around the edge sounds like it would work. I will start some squares for practice and hope to join the 6x6 exchange in the next month or two. Marilyn

Just dive in, Marilyn, we really aren't that picky. The exchange is as much about connecting with each other as it is about squares. I sometimes start squares and have to frog them and start again to get them to the 6X6 size but they are small enough that it really doesn't involve that much time. It is a good place to try out stitches. If you look back on this you may find some stitch patterns people put up. I have tried different ones for the

6X6 and also am using it as a chance to develop my crocheting skill. So -- dive in when Nora puts up the list later this week. If you are worried about it, you can ask Nora to make me your first partner -- I can assure you I will be quite pleased to put your squares in the doll room afghan I am making from my squares.

(My doll room also is where my granddaughters sleep when they visit and they would like a cosy afghan.)

Hello,

I am finding it hard to follow the threads on Yahoo. Most posts are replys and I can't find the beginning thread. I guess it is me. And after a week, I am still being moderated :( So, very hard to join the conversations.

I think if we ignore the baddies, they will go byebye. We know which posts are fake anyway. I hope I can still play over here!

Diane (who found my "N" hook in the most wierd place, the laundry basket! What the.....!!! And I was going to buy one the other day, but they were out! )

Hi Diane- If you click on "thread" at the top of the message page you will be able to read the original message followed by the replies. I make sure that I click on new messages on the yahoo group page first so I don't get all messages from the beginning of the groups. I plan on reading and participating both here and on the yahoo group. But if things get bad again and everyone goes from here to the yahoo group I won't be left behind wondering where everyone has gone!

There were just WAY too many posts there for me to sift through. I am in a couple other Yahoo groups and have the messages come to my inbox, but the sheer volume of messages with this one overwhelmed me.

Diane, I find it just as confusing and not easy to use at all. Just to get there each and every time, I have to prove who I am. to much like the WWII, Not for me either.

Oh Mirjam,

I guess that shows how human we are!! I have found different things in the fridge from time to time, I say "who put that there??", but usually it was me.

I won"t even tell you what I find in the washer! smirk, lol

Diane (but if it is money, than it is mine)

Diane, I assume you are downloading them as individual emails which I agree are hard to follow. People really need to consistently quote what they are replying to but some don't ever do that. If you read the messages on the Web site, you can tell it to list them in threads but there doesn't seem to be a way there to identify which ones you have already read. I'm surprised you are still being moderated and I would guess Cher has overlooked it.

When you live alone, there is no way you can blame someone else. lol

I've set up a message rule so they go into a separate folder and don't clutter my inbox. I agree the volume is overwhelming and, if it doesn't settle down soon, I'll stop reading.

Thanks for the suggestions about hitting the thread button. I didn't even notice that. It does help a lot, as to keep the subjects together. I have also checked off the area where you say no emails as well. There are many messages to read and catch up on which I will try tomorrow. I am off from work finally!

That is why people invented Pixies, Gremlins, Fairies and such that come out at night....But you do not need to get so far fetched, I just found a stash of stuff that the dog we have been "sitting" had stashed in an odd corner of the dining room. Just blame the Pixies or the dog depending on which you have in the house : )
