Actually I am a part of a Medieval Reinactment Group and I would like to wear my best Elizebethan outfit for an event in August, but I can't wear it without the bodice underneath it.
As for it being uncomfortable - it actually is more comfy than any modern bra I've worn. It becomes sorta-like a bra / back support / anti-slouch devise. :-)
