[AD] Beads and Orchids

I just posted some pictures of beads and two of my orchids that are currently in bloom. Both orchids are fragrant so it is nice sitting here right now as both are right next to me.

Sorry I didn't do HTML to add them to the site, I just uploaded the pics.

These first two pictures of are a bead I think looks like the background of the old Spiderman cartoons when he is just web-swinging against a watercolour "sky". The bead is a little wonky as I started out making it as a hollow in order to try Jim Smircich's way of making hollow pillows. I think I squished a little too much. *lol* Regardless, it is way cool because it did expand as a hollow after the application of some of the colours (or at least I think that's what happened).

Two views of some boro beads I did Wednesday. The ones on the ends have a darker teal heart and the ones in the middle have a soft minty heart. I think they turned out really pretty.

Oncidium Sharry Baby. Usually its fragrance is described as smelling like chocolate.

LC. Secret Love. Isn't that a nice name for a flower?

What beautiful pictures, Cheryl! How sad that your mother lost her orchids. I know she put a lot of time and effort into them.

Wow I love that bead w/ the purple and green - the colors really pop and the detail is amazing. Are you gonna put this one up for sale? The teal ones are yummy too.

Have you ever thought about making orchid beads?

I actually sold "Big Spidey" this weekend but I do have a long bead I made the same day with the same colours. I just uploaded it. It is at:

I've been trying to make stuff for a sale I plan to have in the next little while. My sister usually does a craft sale in her home each year but isn't this year so I asked if we could do just a bead thing. My Mom hasn't been well so we are somewhat playing it ear as to when we are going to have it. I don't really think I am going to prepare anything for e-Bay in the next little while but if you're interested let me know and we can do something before my house sale. As far as the orchid beads go, yes I thought about it when Corina did her flower challenge. For me though, beads are like the rocks I collected as a little girl but better. You know how really cool rocks look best when they're wet? Well beads, to me, are like the most beautiful, perfect wet rocks. I think that's why I like boro so much and prefer doing soft glass with reactive colours. I like to be a little bit surprised with what I get. I admire and envy the expertise of some glass artists but my heart is really with "wet rocks".

Thanks for your comments!
