Thanks for more useless information to put in my head. Is that a British term? I've never heard it before.

Very British and prevalent in the IT world. In the RAF we used to describe anything unserviceable or broken as US (pronounced "you ess") - unless we were working with the Americans, they tended to get a bit upset at the use of the term. Bruce

Well, Jim had always used it, and he did his 20 in the USAF, in communications type technology! I think it is a more international military term, than UK.

We love to broaden your education, Lucille!! Don't think it will show up in the Daily Trivia quiz.

I'm not so sure--some of the questions have been bizarre, especially the UK ones.

From the depth of my lack of knowledge, I sure feel my education has been lacking.

Thanks Gill - got your messages. They are such cute dogs - I want another one - I really really do. My darling Clancy is really showing her age - she's in her 13th year - and I'm so afraid she won't be with us much longer. We will not let her suffer for sure - she's been the best dog I've ever had in my life. My dachsie who left us 3 years ago was an absolute angel too - most of the time - he was a stubborn bugger but I loved him to pieces. He and I would have wine and cheese parties whenever DH was on the road. He loved his wine. :-))

Maybe one will just wander along and adopt you, the way Max did with us! They both enjoy their nibbles of cheese while we had the Saturday night cocktail!

Of course, dear old Whisky, gone for three or four years now would eat

*anything* that Jim ate. He even ate sour pickles....not with a lot of enthusiasm, but if it was good enough for Dad, it was good enough for him!

Sheesh ! After all you have said about me, now we know, the secret is out - you even had a wine loving doggie !

I have a boarder cat just now, Sasha, very very pretty, I would think a lot of rag doll in him. However I have had him since Thursday and so far he has not eaten. He is annoyed. He is drinking though, so I figure hang on, they come home tomorrow. Maybe I should offer him some wine ?

Sure, he could have a little farewell party, wine and hmmm something fishy, caviar?? Lobster??

Now that sounds like an idea lol I could give him the canned cat food and eat the lobbie.

Actually I had a breakthrough, when I was doing my supper he actually ate little dried food from his plate, which confirms what I thought, he would give in. Otherwise he is perfectly friendly but just didn't want to eat. Maybe if he comes again he will eat from the word Go.

Cash will beg for whatever we're eating, take it, and very gently put it down on the ground with a suspicious look that clearly says "that's not food!" Almonds are the latest victim of this behavior.

Does he go on to eat it though ?

Depends. Some things he eats right away. Most of the things he puts on the ground get scarfed up by Harry who is quite vigilant to this behavior. Some things he'll give a second chance if he sees Harry angling for it. I never had a finicky dog before, though, so it's a source of amusement.

Harry will beg for just about anything, but has a real thing for Swedish fish (those red candy ones). Cash will ask for one, because Harry's getting one, but there's no point in giving one to Cash unless I want Harry to have two because "that's NOT food!" LOL!

Well at least both can see the benefit of having the other around. I don't have a clue what Swedish fish are, makes me think of that Norwegian (I think) dish that involves fermented fish lol
