Bridal Gown and frogs

My Husqvarna/Viking dealer had a seminar yesterday, mostly on quilts and embroidery, but what I really enjoy are their anecdotes. I like the ones that tell me I'm not the only brain dead sewer out there :>) but my favorite from yesterday........................One of her friends is making her daughter's wedding gown, which of course has a lot of embroidery on it. Completely unknown to her daughter, she is using some of the solar sensitive thread, and among the embroidery she's putting frogs. Yup, little frogs, which will be white in church, but as soon as they leave church and hit sunlight, will turn green. I'd love to see the expression on that bride's face when her dress starts growing little green frogs.

I hope two things for that mother: first that the frogs are just on the hem and not all over, and second that the daughter has a sense of humor and likes frogs.

But I'll bet it's going to be funny.

It sounds like a lot of fun! I bet the mum DOES know her daughter - and it's the sort of thing one of my sisters might have done to me, and would have had me in stitches, as they say!

Hope there's no stray sunbeams in the church during the ceremony.

Wow, that's cool!!! I like the idea, although I do hope the daughter is a fan of frogs. I'm getting married in the late afternoon, so even if I tried to incorporate something like that, it wouldn't matter. :(

Bridal Gown and frogs Sharon, Thanks for sharing! I love this, it's right up my tree! BUT--will her frog turn into a Prince, or will the metamorphosis reveal a toad? Stay tuned: only time will tell. Cea
