Husqvarna/Viking Mega Quilter`

-------------------------------------

Hello everyone, I just joined and have a question. Does anyone use the Mega Quilter on an Inspira frame? If so, how do you manage to do a bed quilt on it without having to turn it around half way thru because the throat is too small? I now have 15 tops ready to be quilted but am afraid to put one on because I'm not sure how to get thru it all. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Carolyn on Vancouver Island

Hi, there is a YAHOO group called "homequiltingsystems" and another called "husqvarnavikingquilters" -- either may be able to help.

Hi Carolyn. Welcome to the group. Pull up a chair and join the cyber quiltingbee. I had the Mega Quilter and Inspira frame for a couple of year and loved it. I never turned a quilt around on it - way too much work. I don't particularly like pinning them to the leaders. With pantograph patterns, when the throat space got full, I would just do one pattern row then roll the quilt. Until I got about halfway through with the quilt, I could do two rows without rolling easily. At about the halfway point though, it was tight even to do one row but I could usually squeeze it through. It just takes longer to get a quilt done having to roll it after every row. I didn't do much free motion quilting on it so I can't tell you about that. I mostly used pantographs. I just got to the point that I wanted a larger throat space and sold my Mega Quilter and got a Handi Quilter 16.

Hugs, Mika

It depends on the thickness of the material.Sometimes I USE MY OTHER MEGA QUILTER ON A TABLE WITH A PORTABLE FRAME AND THAT WORKS OK.
