Coat update!

I cut the coat out. I cut out the lining... I neatened all the coat edges as this is a thick, coarse weave that ravels really well... I sewed the back/neck seam... I sewed the shoulder seams... Flat construction, so the sleeves are attached! I changed threads... I sewed the shoulder seams on the lining...

I'm looking at the instructions and thinking: I want to change the construction order here. I think I'll sew the lining to the facing and THEN put the facing in. That way, the awkward bit at the back of the neck will be easier to handle, and I can just sew a REALLY easy seam to finish the edge off!

Right. Next steps: sew the sleeves to the lining and press everything. Then I can sew the facing on, press that, and sew up the side seams. Must remember to sew in the loop at the back of the neck - and a care label!

This should be finished by tonight! :)

DH wants me to go buy foam with him, for a spray-booth problem he's doing... See you later, sewing machine!
