Oooohhhh!!!! That would be just too cool, wearing your original wedding gown for your twenty-fifth anniversary celebration. Do put up pics, please?

That is a luscious shade of brown! After looking at all the different browns, I might even have to make myself something in brown, maybe for the family get-together scheduled for December 30th. I have never made anything brown for myself, always looked for bright blues, turquoises, reds and purples, so this might be a good change. Emily

Well, I look good in those bright colours too, but I do love brown as well. And it's surprising how many things go with a nice brown.

I found my velour (bootom of the *back* stack, behind 3 other stacks and two dress dummies!), and have been stroking it...

How about a chocolate velour quilt from the scraps when you have made your new clothes? Now that *would* be yummy and snuggly!

P.S. Did you and James get your pressie from me?

There might be enough to BACK the whole thing!

ooo - yes! Thank you! Lovely article on embellishment with velvet! Mad happenings here put it out of my head - Alan was away Monday 6am until 6pm Wednesday, has been working like a loony since (he went to manage one project and came back with THREE! Better than being redundant... ), and then dashed off for a weekend scout training, James started his new school on Tuesday, and we were at the dentist today, so I have been playing laundry maid and stuff like crazy!

Surely all us regulars recall that episode in As the Newsgroup Turns.

This story is real interesting. Wonder how soon it becomes an elective?

Very cool Kate. I'm proud of you. I know how hard it is, cause I've been there. I made goal in March. Now sew, sew sew, that new wardrobe Karen O

;) I have no customers at the moment, so I'm very chatty.

Thanks, Karen. I'm loving it! The cutting out worktop will be cleared off (curently cluttered from me getting parcels in the post this week!) and put to use.

Well done you, also!

I always feel that it doesn't matter if you have 10 lbs or 60lbs to lose: it's just as important to you, and your getting there is just as good. AND the struggle can be just as difficult.

Well done!!!

Kate How is that new wardrobe coming along? I'm planning to make a tailored jacket out of gray wool. I figure if I start now, by the time I'm finished maybe the weather will have cooled off a bit. It's still hot here in Northern California. I will take my time on it, I haven't really tailored anything in almost 20 years. Karen

You'll get there! :)

And thank you. :)

Skirt and top in bitter chocolate velour cut. There's enough fabric left to cut another top, so I shall get the pattern out tomorrow.. :)

Weekend has been a tad busy for sewing...

Maybe after the weekend..... When you buy fabric for you stash-as in the chocolate velour, how much do you typically buy? Did you know ahead of time what your plan was for this material? Karen
