Pfaff hobbylock 4870 serger

------------------------------------- Pepper

While too tense myself, I tightened the screw that holds the thread tension on the needle bar. I broke the screw off in the needle bar. Took it to a repair shop and they removed the piece in the bar, however, I have searched high and low - local Pfaff Dealers - no one has this screw. It is a unique screw, and it is nowhere to be found in my area. The spring for the thread tension seats in the head of the screw. Where do old sergers go to die. Mine was purchased in 1994 and evidently Pfaff sold the company and not this particular tooling. Anyone know where I might find a serger graveyard or place to obtain this screw? Thanks

There is a website for Pfaff owners. Google for it and you'll find lots of help, although I have no idea how to solve this particular problem. I've seen parts for machines on E-Bay. Good luck. Emily in Houston, TX
