PFAFF COVERLOCK 4862 SERGER

Jan 07, 2004 2 Replies

One is currently available on eBay (it's not mine, just interested in one). Can anyone tell me anything about this serger as I'm interested in buying one. How old is this model, any pros, cons?

Tnx, Pirate_Dave

I have the step up, the Pfaff 4872 and love it, bought soon after it came out. DD had the 4862 and loved it as much as I do mine. She said it does the coverstitch and almost everthing else the 4872 does, but is only a four thread(mine is a 5-thread). This Christmas, her husband surprised her w/the newest Pfaff 10-thread serger. She has sold the other one already, and says the new owner loves it, too. These sergers came out in 2000-2001, I think. Go to the Pfaff website

You will find all sorts of info about their machines. Emily

I have the Pfaff 4874 (the 10 thread) I have had it since June. I enjoy using it. In fact, my dealer let me take my lessons just a few weeks ago. I told them I didn't need the lessons for the basic serging work, but wanted the extra cover topstitch lessons. I wanted some time to play with the machine and get used to using it before I went in for the "extra" lessons.
