poodle skirts

hope this works for everyone. Here are 2 of the poodle skirts I made for 50's day at the elementary school. I made 3 others for classmates, 2 in black, one in hot pink. They were SO easy, just a circle with a circle cut out of the middle, then I sewed on the elastic, the poodle (Hancocks) and the sequins. The sequins are machine-sewn with a wide zigzag stitch. For those of you who have Roadrunner, it comes with a personal home page which was (barely) manageable to set up. Don't try it if you know nothing about computers, though. Kirsten Sollie

What a precious picture, Kirsten!

I had a poodle skirt in the 50s but am positive I didn't look that adorable in it.

Yes, that is her, in Kindergarten. Daddy doll is still hanging in there, at the moment he spends alot of time on her shelf but comes in handy when Daddy is away.

My news server was down for a while so I'm just getting to see these. The skirts are wonderful. And I cannot believe how grown up the girls look!!! They all grow so fast don't they? Good work on all of it. ;)

I am only receiving 4-5 posts daily again; DS will be home tomorrow and he'll have to check this computer again. I do not touch any settings when he isn't here to tell me what and how, or he usually does it himself. After all, he is the one trained to work with computers and as an auditor, he knows much more than I do about them. Emily

Dear Emily, I don't think it'd your computer. Things seem a little slow lately. Maybe no one is sewing this week. Juno

Or maybe we are all sewing so much we don't have time to write!! Halloween is next week. I only have 3 costumes to make this weekend. I will try to post pictures after the event. I just doctored up 2 pr. overalls for a school "scarecrow" event, one big (me) and one small. May post pictures of those as well.

(My hair is more appropriate now than it was when the picture wastaken.) My preparations for Halloween consisted of checking that green eye shadow would show up well on my skin. Then I discovered that this stuff is designed to stick! I ended up with pink streaks where the green streaks had been. After Halloween, I'll try cleaning it off with olive oil. (Since I don't wear makeup, I haven't any cold cream.)

Meanwhile, back at the T-shirt I should have finished last week . . .

Kirsten! Those skirts (and kids) are just darling! I love poodle skirts, I always wanted to wear one. Maybe next halloween. This year we are not going anywhere, and not dressing up at work.
