Preview of my new serger bench

My wonderful son-in-law came yesterday and very patiently installed the new bench exactly as I wanted it done. Here is a preview of the finished project:

I will add before-and-after as well as progress pictures to my web site soon, but right now I just want to go sew!

Very, very nice! I know you are tickled pink and I hope you have an office chair on wheels so you can just zip down the line from machine to machine.

I am! And a good thing is, that there were two huge cardboard boxes of really, Really, REALLY old stash down at the end of the original table, and getting ready for this project I cleared them out. Some I will to donate to Goodwill, some to the Senior Center, the rest to the landfill. I also made some decisions about some Unfinished Projects.

I do, here is my DSIL using it as he was working:

I have two wheeled chairs in that room. I can also whip from sewing machine to supply cabinet without having to walk. ;-D

That's a real dream project. What a great SIL. Enjoy every minute using you wonderful new work area. You mention UFO'S. I pulled out a table runner I started at leas 7 or 8 yea rs ago, plled out a million stitches and edge stitched. Not happy with my s titching, so tomorrow I will make a run down to JOANNs and get some black bias tape and finish it off with that. I put to much work into before this to leave it sit in a box.

It is, and he is!

Several of my UFOs will be dismatled and the fabric donated, the projects no longer fit my style.

A few are going to be offered to my DDs, in case they really want Welsh double-cloth wool

(teal and olive YIKES!) for a reversible jacket. I bought the fabric in Victoria BC. many years ago, never got aroundtoit. I also pulled out a white eyelet 'New Look' dress I made for myself in about 1960... bust 35", waist 22"... :-} The fabric is perfect, it will make someone a nice bassinette cover... or something.

Luckily, I also came across the "Grandmother's Flower Garden" quilt top

, pieced by DH's grandmother, given to her DDIL, then given to me by my DMIL, never quilted. My DDs and DGC are interested in having it finished, so I will be researching local quilting circles.
