If you can find it at a less than astronomical price, great. The last ginghams I've found that I considered cheap were trapezoids. I usually just draw in the grainlines with chalk.

The stuff that Connie was using for a draping fabric is actually a stiff interfacing. She uses that because you can see the buckles easily, and because you can't squeeze out the last bit of ease with it, as many of us seem to do when fitting. She says when she started out, there was a special draping fabric that was a waxed muslin that was used for primary draping of things like zero ease bodices for strapless dresses. She often drapes in paper, but most of us are a little too vigorous for paper.

At least we can be grateful they don't think of 10 penny nails and a hammer.

Thanks, I think you'll be hearing from me loud and clear. I truly doubt I'll be doing any traveling to the areas she'll be going to.My life seems to be centered around Hyde Park, NY and Cape Cod. both of which are pretty darn nice. J
