Just finished some pillowcases

These are for the ex-roommates of DS2. He had fun picking out just the right cat fabrics. It is great that my family doesn't get bored in a fabric shop! He and DH were trying different fabrics until he got just the right mix. I'll upload pictures in a few minutes.

I love the pillowcases. Since I can't get our kids to give me suggestions for the grandkids, maybe I'll make pillowcases.

I just couldn't believe how wonderful the pillowcases were. I searched for the newsprint cat fabric, found it at Cotton Club and discovered one with dogs. It's adorable. Since DDIL has 7 dogs (actually 8 but one of them just hangs around when the notion strikes him), I'll be making her some pillowcases. Thank you, Susan. What a super great gift and reasonably easy. Me quilt group is making pillow cases for cancer patients. My DF at quilting class cuts them out & I fold them together. When I make them on the serger, it take me under 10 mins. to sew one up!

Nana........making lots of them

Okay Does someone have a link for how to make these pillowcases? My oldest friend's DGD turns 5 in early December. Layla is reallllyyyy into princesses, so I'd love to do a pillowcase or two or three for her. Don't want to try for a quilt for her. Too much going on, and she got a blue and white one from me a few years ago.

And if someone has princess type fabric, I'll trade ya!

A magazine I keep on the front row of my 'to-do' plans is Quilt - July/August '06. There's a very nice pattern there including using a contrasting band and an inset of trim. I wish I were bright enough to show it to you online; maybe someone here can hit it for you. Polly
