Well, it's a 'kind' of sewing! ;-)

> Seriously gorgeous. Thanks!

Nope, Mom had thought about getting one, but never did. I doubt any attachments are still available for 36+-year-old machines.

I loved the complicated patterns the most when I was hand knitting. ;-)

People who can knit fair-isle or argyle blow me away, too! I never mastered the technique of multiple strands of yarn.

can click on the forward arrows to see all five pics. This was really fun, I can hardly wait to wear it to DGD's next dance competition! And in case anyone wonders, yes, I shortened the shirt, I don't like super long, it looks sloppy on me.

I'm green with envy. That shirt is stunning. I love it. You have made a lovely outfit. I love embellished denim. It's my favorite look. Enjoy it every minute you have it on. The compliments will be flying your way. Juno

Would it be easier for me to send you a package of my shirts, or for you to come show me how to use my machine? O:-)

ROTFLOLl!!! Yeah, I see that halo. I'm headed your direction in late April 2008....

You know, Joanne, I got my machine the year I was making younger DD's wedding gown (2004, some time AFTER you got yours IIRC), and didn't even touch it until two years ago, when older DD volunteered me to embroider logos on DGD's soccer team's warm-up jackets. She just assumed I could create a design, and whip them out. ;-O However, I actually managed to do a pretty good job of it, and since then I've just plunged in. I find the manual a b___h for both the machine and the PSW software, but I keep poking around until I find something that works, and just DO IT. And it's really, really fun!

If you want to take this to e-mail, I'd be happy to tutor you. ;->

Thanks!

I do too, that's why I was so delighted when Joanne posted the ShoppersRule site. They have GREAT prices on denim shirts, plus lots of other stuff. NAYY

I will, thanks,

Thanks, Doreen! My next project is a bunch of Halloween designs on another denim shirt, I just have to figure out the layout.

Thanks! I practically live in denim, so it's lots of fun doing the embroidery on them, makes them a little "different". I'm pretty sure I won't see one like this coming at me in the grocery store. ;-)

Thanks, Kate, subtle was what I was aiming for, especially as I was pretty sure I was going to put lots of knots on the shirt. Plus, I had this cone of rayon thread I didn't think I'd ever use on anything else, it's actually blue twisted with black. Now, I may have to order some more.... ;-}

I do have a plan. First, I have to clear the room the machine is in so I can get to it. Then I have to find a lamp and a chair.... Things keep interrupting. *sigh* The kitchen is nearly done -- the flooring yet to do, and some tiddly stuff like quarter round, patching plaster and paint. I'm going to wash the curtains and if they survive, they'll go back up. Otherwise, I'll be looking for ... maybe bamboo roman shades that go up and go down. Then there was the stomach flu that has laid me out for the past week. Today is my first really good day, although I'm weak as a kitten. I will DO IT. I promise.

Mrs Stripy Thread, me - and I don't even have full embroidery! But it's amasing how good stripy quilting thread look on quilts and as top stitching...

How well I know!

What good news, I was soooo relieved when my major kitchen remodel finally came to a close, and I could make dinner there again, rather than in the LR in the microwave.

I'm sorry you've been ill, get well soon.

My kitchen job has been much more cosmetic than yours, so I've been able to use the kitchen -- as much as I do -- all along, except for a day or two here and there. It took a day to do the templates for the counters and back splash, then one more day to install. The only demolition was for removing the old sink. Didn't replace the site-built cabinets, but did add one floor-to-ceiling in the "breakfast nook." It was so hard to find lights, but I finally found a site with an incredible number of offerings, and exactly what I was looking for. (Now searching for bathroom light fixtures.) I made the decision to go for the 24" self-cleaning, solid top range, and I just love it! My little 18" portable dishwasher fits next to it now. My mini-appliances.

Before I tackled the kitchen, I had the Miracle Method Man come tend to the bathroom. ;-) He turned my bluuuuue tile a lovely pale green, and my worn porcelain tub white. Again, no demo. Just no bathroom on this floor for a week.

We moved into this house 28 years ago with a 20-year Plan. We're doing pretty well.............

This flu is all over this area, and is wiping people out. There's a week I don't really remember much about, but am really feeling human again. It's one of those "I'm afraid I'm dying" -- "Uh oh, I'm afraid I'm not going to die" type things. Who would think that a person could enjoy Gatorade and Jello? Thanks for your good wishes.
