I am retired and live on the east coast of Fife. Here is some info about the village I live in.

I enjoy knitting and crochet. In my mad youth I also did tapestry, some tatting, counted cross stitch, embroidery and loads of dressmaking and tailoring. LOL Mirjam. Oh indeed age is wonderful and I'm still only 65 years young! (Plenty of time to get into a lot more things than I dared when I was young). ;-D

Yes, and now the lighter evenings are coming a lot more knitting will be done. I always prefer to knit in daylight than artificial light - I find it easier to spot any mistakes! :-(

Mistakes ?? you mean those delightful changes in patterns ? that occure here and there ? mirjam

Those are the ones! If they add a new dimension to the design I leave them in place. If not, then they have to go - and the ones that nobody other than me will notice just get ignored. ;-D

I keep thinking I'll leave some of them because nobody else will notice... then I fix them, because _I_ notice. Then I decide I want to reverse the color pattern. Then I notice some mistakes that I hadn't seen before... I've reknitted part of this darned hat five times so far. It's only the lining, but the hat is reversible so somebody might see the inside someday.

That made me giggle Tamar. It is exactly how I used to be - everything had to be absolutely perfect as mistakes were not acceptable. I now call them "changes in the pattern" or "artistic licence".

My Dad had a saying for a situation like that. "A man in a runaway horse and cart will never stop to complain about it". ;-)
