HI Everyone

I thought I'd introduce myself. I am married with two nieces and another niece on the way. I'm 36 years old and have been married for 5 years to my first and only husband. It took way too many frogs/toads/snakes to kiss in order for me to find my prince charming.

Scrapbooking has been a hobby of mine for about 10 years (or as my family says an obsession). 30 years if you count the simple ones of my youth. My husband is a supportive soul who likes it when I scrap because then he can bring them into work as a show and tell (he works as a bookkeeper for the NYPD). He does hate it when I hog up the dining room table and most of the floor. I have made a peace treaty with him though. Since NYC has a recycling program I keep two garbage cans nearby--one for paper the other for everything else.

I work part-time at a local retail store and own my own cyberspace store

and we live with my husband's parents since rent in NYC and the suburbs have gotten totally out of hand. Our 2 Bdrm apt's rent was $1250 a month.

I posted some new layouts on

and broke them down into categories since I tend to do theme books. I sell on eBay

The harder the layout the better. I'm trying to figure out paper folding techniques as shown on DIYnet Scrapbooking and heat embossing (without burning myself or the stupid paper.) ;-) I look forward to reading everyone's posts and maybe add my 2 cents or maybe 3.

Hey Kate and welcome! I'm not really new but back after a long break away and wanted to welcome you to the group. I checked out your layout link and it's great! I really love the rememberance pages and will definately be scrap-lifting some ideas from there! :) I've got a couple of rememberance albums I need to do and yours are great inspirations! Again, welcome!

Hi and welcome to this great group from one of the FEW admitted male scrappers - ANYWHERE!! LOL!

Your remeberance link is outasite! I was really touched and know you put a lot of time and emotion into it. That is so neat your dh is a part of the NYC force.

Hi Kate,

This is a great group. I have been here a week and LOVE these people, this group. I really enjoyed your Christmas in Queens pages, the Assembly required and Charlie Brown pages especially.

I'd love to see better pictures of your Sept. 11th pages. The angles are hard to see what you've got there. I have the stuff to scrap for the day, just haven't gotten to it yet. Would appreciate your inspiration.

Am encouraging (BULLYING) Jessica (who you'll meet in here) to scrapbook the Tsunami disaster as she has a close friend who happened to be in Thailand at the time and rather than coming home is working in the relief efforts. He sends her emails, and we all see the pictures. So, thank you for recognizing that September 11th needed to be documented in your book. I know you're in NYC so it probably came very naturally. It looks like you did a beautiful, loving job. God Bless,

Melissa

Welcome to the group Kate!! You're going to love it here. You won't find a more talented, helpful and kind group of people anywhere else. I'm pretty new myself and I'm amazed at the talent I've seen in the past couple of months.

Welcome, I'm pretty new to the group too. The ideas floating around here are fantastic and I've actually scrapped more since I joined. I love your Queens Christmas with the pull-outs and flip-ups. You've got some great ideas. Thanks for sharing Sandy

Enjoyed your books. Your 911 book must've been very difficult. You did a great job documenting such a momentous event.
