A few more pics of the studio

For those interested in the gradual transition from empty space (no, not the one between my ears, thankyouverymuch!) to working studio, I've put a few more photos up on the blog.

Very impressive. I had to laugh at the Tardis comment. My aim for my hols is to empty out cupboards and either get rid of years of hoarding or get 2/3 kids to list what they don't want on Trademe. For one brief week they are at home together. Ngaire breezed in but is now back in London.

And somewhere in the mess is something for you, Jan!

Now if I could only get the Doctor to let go of the package or just tell me if the 'Garlics' (as the First Mate calls them) have eaten your goodies.

Thanks, Jerri!

It's slow but sure, we know this will go on for a long time but it's been fun getting the first steps out of the way.

When school is back in session it will be easier, although the First Mate does have his own corner of the studio.

I've put the picture in the blog but here's the link to save time:

Thanks, JC. Mike's enjoying it immensely. One of his Christmas presents (the main one was a sat-nav thingy ... boys toys!) was a week at the studio with no interruptions. It's been working out very well. I stay home and make mountains of LEGO with the First Mate, Mike makes beads.

We've come a long way from the day we realized that Mike wasn't going to be able to ever go back to teaching or for that matter any sort of paid employment due to his feet. He's learning to cope, we're moving along and he's happier now than any time since he got up and couldn't walk without being in pain.

Glass seems to be his life, and with any luck it will be his living too. We're starting out on the 2nd with new listings, so we'll see how it goes from there.

The friendship and support we've had from glass people has been astounding. It made and still makes the difference for us every day.

Come on over on your way to PR! You know you want to.

Yup, one door closes and all that, or in our case one porthole shuts!

At our age going with the flow is the easy route! I figure we won't starve and with luck, hard work and a big bag of Cheetos we'll survive and even be successful.

-Su

Ok, maybe not Cheetos but a girl can hope! Maybe just a little bag of candy corn.
