Happy Friday Everyone!
I'm still "playing." I may never take this seriously again. Every day this week (that hasn't been too windy) I've been sitting down at my torch with absolutely nothing planned. I've been a little stressed about some home stuff (my son's b-day party this week, the cancellation of a boro class I REALLY wanted to take ....just life as usual stuff) but somehow the moment I light up the torch it all miraculously disappears...or melts into something way cool. I'm getting such a kick out of playing with frits. And it suddenly dawned on me on Wednesday that I'm not afraid of encasing anymore! I do it so much it's become a non-event. Wow! (Probably not a big deal for many others, but it's always been a major "hard thing" for me.)
Oh, and in case anyone really cares, I'm madly in love with 96 COE glass. Especially the Gaffer stuff...but also the gorgeous "basics" from Uroboros. The white is creamy, agate-y and ever so slightly translucent. The black is BLACK, and the almond is way cool. Not as funky as Moretti ivory, but it has it's very own, different affinity with silver.
Okay, so bring on the beads!
