Nice. Looks like you've been very influenced by Kathleen Dustin. I'd be afraid to do anything that resembled another artist's work quite that much, what with all the paranoia in the polymer clay community about copying. It's a very pretty piece though.

I've not been influence by KD.....didn't see her work until someone passed her name along to me after I'd started my Sketches line. I don't look to the work of others for inspiration...in fact...I go to great lengths not to be influenced. I don't buy books by other jewelry artists....I'm well known for doing my own thing.

Thanks,

Jill

Hey Ohio -- a stunning piece of work, as always. Good to know you are still on the cutting edge of this medium. I never fail to be impressed by your work.

I can't see why you think so - Kathleen Dustin's work is rudimentarily similar in concept, in that it also contains realistic portraits, but Jill and Kathleen have a vastly different aesthetic and the resulting pieces bear little in common other than containing a face. This is a little like perceiving that I must be heavily influenced by Pati Walton because some of my beads contain flowers.
