AD: Rebekah Auctions

I didn't see a post from Candace so this may be a duplicate but the first of the auctions are up and on eBay. Yeah! I had to bid on the White Russian necklace but I'm hoping the price goes way up because it's beautiful! Everything is beautiful!

Sorry to hear you're missing your baby (mine starts 1/2 days today - afternoons) Only 3 to go! The 2 oldest are really enjoying school!

He will enjoy himself and it will give you some nap time with the baby, right? It's hard sending off your first one to school. I cried all day when Heather started school.

Me too! I'll try to get some more going very soon. Luckily for me, I was able to say NO--he's not starting today, and Yes, I will be bringing him tomorrow! haha. After that he'll be riding the bus--which is gonna be another tear fest, I'm sure.

Wow, Candace, this is your first time making pictures? I am amazed.

One is confusing though... the picture of the Dragonflier card looks so clear that it is confusing at first to figure out whcih are the beads on sale and whcih are the beads on the picture on the card...

This is so exciting to see!

I want to send you the stuff I've been hoarding for hte acutions right now.. but probably I should wait as I bet you are overwhelmed.

Could you let us know... is the majority of what you have finished jewelry, or jewelry components? I am wondering, is there a limited amountof finished jewelry that will sell succesfully in this venue, or are there enough members of the general public (or enough of us who like eachother's stuff :) ) to support much finished jewelry at the Princess Auctions?

I have about a half ton of components--all kinds of beads n stuff. I also have a huge box of finished pieces. I'll be listing lots of beads next, I think:)

Yep--first time with a digital cam--and I'm hoping to improve drastically. I am severely limited by my lighting issue tho, so I'll have to work this out a bit. As long as people can see the items well enough to answer any ?'s, then I'm happy with it:)

Sorry, but half day Kindergarten is quickly going the way of the buggy whip and the 8-track tape. Even Manda had full day kindergarten, and that was ten years ago.

The teachers know that it's a new thing to be away from home for long periods for some of the kiddos, and they do make allowances. I'm quite sure he'll love it - the kids have a ball.

One thing - the first few weeks of classes, he's going to be ravenously hungry and/or exhausted when he gets home. His little body needs to adjust to the new experience. Having a snack ready when he gets home from school will make a big difference in the crabbiness level. Giving him a little alone time helps quite a bit too, to let him adjust to the new experience.

I can relate. When Manda started school, I sat in the car outside the school for a good hour, blubbing.

She skipped out at the end of the day, delighted, and excited about going to school every day. She did her blubbing on Saturday and Sunday, because she couldn't go to school.

I don't like it. And yes, I know--in a few weeks, I'll wonder how I could have possibly ever not liked it. Part of it is that I *know* Darian. The things he could get up to in that amount of time away from me is scary beyond belief. I'm afraid he's gonna do something so wrong when he starts to tire of being there that they'll kick him out or something. uugghhh I just need to get thru these next few weeks.

:) He's not the first little boy they've ever had in Kindergarden, Candace.

I am sure it will be fine. And a few scrapes are part of being a little boy, right?

My sister just sent her twins off for the first time this week. Her house is so quiet without them (and tidy). When she picked them up the teacher said how good they had been, and she asked if they had the right kids! :-)

Oh My God. What did I just enroll my kid into? Someone talk me out of disenrolling him now, because I am 30 seconds away from doing it.

I just had a chance to fully read the school handbook. Things were rather hectic while I was at the school, so I only skimmed it there.

It actually states that in 1994, they instated CORPORAL PUNISHMENT. Who in the hell do these people think they are?! I am trusting them to teach my child--to shape his mind and his skills--not to HIT MY CHILD! And it says they will use a PADDLE! The mere fact that I have enrolled my kid in this school gives them permission to strike him if THEY feel it is needed?! Fuck that.

I am so angry right now I can't breath right. No one, and I mean NO one is going to strike my child. The most he's ever gotten was a few pops to his bottom--and those were more like firm pushes. I do not advocate striking a child as a corrective measure. How in the hell does hitting a kid teach him not to mess up? Ohhhhhhhh I want to scream.

I. Hate. It. Here. Everything about this place. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.

Helen and I are gonna start an RCB commune. I figure if groups of ladies in 3rd world countries can live off their bead efforts, so can all of us. Who's in?

Take a deep breath...they cannot use corporal punishment without parental consent. Period.
