Another question about beading a cabochon..........

Ok, I got some stiff stuff and some fabric for the back. I think it's that ultrasuede, cuts like leather, no fraying (yay!), very nice.

Do you usually just glue the back on, once it's done, or do you sew it on?

That's what I do (using leather up to this point), sew so that the beadowork covers the stitching, mine is not so good you'd want to look at it. Usually do that by sewing it down and then adding an extra reduced row to the beadweaving. If you are making a brooch you can glue the pin back to the cab, then cut slits in the fabric so as to cover the ugly glued bits, once you hide the sewing around the edges it's very professional look finishing. Got to use a good pinback though because it's not easy to get to later. River Gems has good ones that stand up to wear.
