Bead Bumpers...

Have never heard of them, but I think they may work great to 'stuff' the holes of larger beads. I think I'll look for them at Michaels and use my coupon.

Oh, Barbara, that's a great idea!! Never thought to put them "inside" the larger beads rather than between them. Thanks for the idea. :)

Oh, wow - great idea! I am always looking for beads to slip inside the holes of my lampwork - sometimes seed beads are too big. I might have to check these out!

I'd never heard of bead bumpers - they look like a good idea to try. I used seed beads to stuff a larger bead once. I used delicas to make peyote-stitch tubular beads with about a 1/8" inside diameter. They were too large for the string, so I stuffed a couple of seed beads inside each one to center the string.

But these bead bumpers are made of silicone - does that make them a bit squishy and adaptable to different large-bead hole sizes?

I haven't used them yet. A friend of mine gave me 50 of them. She didn't care for using them, but she doesn't string beads very often; she's more into working with delicas and weaving. I'll have to give them a try making an Illusion necklace, instead of using crimps.

The description given on the TV program was that the bead bumpers will stretch to accommodate most beading wire. They were used between pearls, glass beads and also used in illusion necklaces.

Hi, Anna. :) I've so many projects going right now, the little package they're in keeps getting buried under the rest of the beads. lol... I gotta try it soon tho before all my .925 Extreme Softlex is gone. I've been hoarding what little I have left of that stuff.

I'll try to remember to use them soon tho - it sounds so much easier than trying to get those *&%^$@ tiny crimps in the right place on the wire.
