Bead Store name help

Jul 18, 2006 38 Replies

Hey all:

My wife and I are opening a bead store in a few months in North Carolina. We are really having a hard time deciding on a name. I was wondering if you would give us some feed back on ourt top three choices (so far)-

High Strung Beads Bead Boutique Strung Out On Beads.

What do you think? Which would you choose and why?

Many thanks!

Which one do you want to say when you answer the phone dozens of times a day?

I named my horse 'dammit' because that was the most common word I used around him.

Just for the record, there is a Bead Boutique in La Mesa, CA. I like the store and the name (much better than the other choices).

I always liked "Balls with Holes".

I like Bead Boutique the best, but I also think it's kind of ordinary.

If you are in the mountains, what about Bead Mountain?

Hey all:

The other one we are considering is Designed By You.

Kristen, my wife already ownes the name in NC with a home-beading party company she owns and we think it still fits with the shop.

I agree that Bead Boutique (my original 1st choice) is good, but somewhat boring. I think there is a lot we can do with Designed By You.

Any thoughts on this one?

I think it needs to say bead in the name. People need to instantly recognize what it is.

I'd think that you'd have trademark issues using Designed by You, not to mention it doesn't tell a passerby what they can design in the store.

I agree with Kathy, bead needs to appear in the name somewhere. Where in NC are you located?

I like High Strung Beads :-) I saw the other suggestions down thread. I like "Designed by You", how about "Beads by You"? Or "BE ADdicted" (sorry, couldn't help myself there!)

Good luck, Christine

if you go with BE*ADdicted, do be sure to include " where you can get strung out" somewhere in the copy....

I like 'High Strung Beads' as well. Sounds good and 'speaks' well... so saying it a few dozen times a day should be easy!!! :)

LOL!!!

I like Bead Boutique because it has stay>

Strung out on Beads I don't like -- I don't like the word "Strung" at all... and "strung out" has such negative drug implications that I would avoid it.

Bead Boutique is just too common. Search the internet - and you will find that there are dozens....

High Strung Beads is the only one that is interesting.....

Someone suggested "world on a string" reference....

Beads is your FOCUS issue - therefore you need to have the word Bead in there.... for certain - but I'd stay away from anything that could have a negative connotation, or might infringe on other trademarks in the industry.

something more distinctive is called for - but my brain isn't reaching it right now...
