Buying Beads in Europe

I am new to beading and thinking of starting some sort of part time buisness making bracelets and necklaces to sell at craft shows, etc. I am going to be going to Europe in 3 weeks and I was wondering if anyone knew if I could get any beads cheaper over there, or do you know if any cool stores to go to. I will be in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Southern Ireland. Thanks for your help. Laura

I did not find any good bead deals in Paris the last time I went. I did, however, find some lovely malachite animal pendants at a flea market which is across the street from the famous Sunday markets at Porte de Clingincourt (sp?) There is a lot of malachite in France since it comes from the nation formerly known as Zaire, which was a French colony. Patti

Start with beading as a hobby - take some classes, make some things for yourself or as gifts. Get good before even thinking of going into business. As you progress, start using high quality, unique beads and findings. Find your own style. Then maybe think of going into business, if you like the idea of beading a LOT and trying to make some money at it. The market is completely saturated with newbie beaders, imported inexpensive beadwork, and even good beadwork. It's really hard to make money right now, because so many people are buying beadwork from chain stores and at fairs where the prices are low. My suggestion would be to fall in love with beads, and play with them because you love it. Business should be something for way down the road. Hopefully the market will be better then. :)
