Hello Aud, I am right here....LOL Did I call myself a lazyknitter.....???? I don't think so....Did I? LOL

I did look at the website, but can't down load the music somehow. The songs are funny though, I did read the texts. The song from Annie Smit I have in my book case. She was a great woman.

Thanks Aud

Thanks again, knitting has always been very popular in Amsterdam. Although maybe not in groups. Otto's mother and my own mother always had something on the knitting needles, that was the norm. LOL

Hi Aud & Els,

No, it was me who called myself the lazyknitter for about six hours. I'm going to go check out the websites right now.

Hugs,

Nora

No Els ,SORRY my head "CLICKED"!!! It was Nora who did so! My reaction to THAT was that it had NOTHING to do with reality, she is the opposite!

I HAVE your beautiful knitted squares, Els! And Lazyknitter is the most "far from reality name" I could call you!LOL!

An explanation from my side here: You see, I suddenly found these sites because: I am going to Amsterdam for 6 days in October!!! (Friends of us have got a flat there, their son study in Amsterdam.) As I have never been there, and therefore I have Googled for tourist information and other information. Then I discovered that I understand a lot daily/simple Dutch when reading it!! It was a very pleasant discovery!

Therefore I tried to google for Dutch KNITTING sites! ...and the first I got was these two sweet songs for learning; I loaded them down, and THEN my head "clicked"! I thought: I must share these with Els! "OH that is fun, as she joked, and named hereself Lazyknitter," and there you are!

I HOPE EVERYONE HERE NOW UNDERSTAND THAT ELS IS AN EXELENT KNITTER!! As many other europeans, knitting belonged to her daily life from her childhood! SORRY Els! LOL!

By the way, do you know a good yarn store in Amsterdam? AUD ;-))

OK Aud.. don't worry, you certainly are not that far off the mark ..... LOL I was more worried that I indeed had said something like that but that I could not recall that I had....LOL Dizzy dame I am, so off and on, and now I read that I am not alone, I seem to be in good company.

Great that you are goint to Amsterdam, you will love it there. Where is the flat located your are going to stay in. I have been away for so long that I can't tell you about any good wool stores etc. But since you are not going as yet, I will ask my old school chum, I am sure she will know. I will also sit with my Dutch magazines Handwerken zonder grenzen en zie if there are any good textile shows happening at that time in Amsterdam. Have a great trip Aud.

I really look forward to it! Iam not sure exactly where the flat lies, but I will soon get to know. But I know: you walk to city center in 25 minutes, or bus, 5 minutes. But as the center is big, I don't know where they call city center.

DH has talked to our friend about this, but I am sure they talk mostly soccer(!). When I talk to his wife, I am sure we will see it from another view!LOL!

(We SHALL see AJAX! I look forward to that too, not so much the match itself, as to be at the stadium among people!)

Thank you for asking your friend, and trying to help me!

Ah Ajax that was our favorite team.......We used to be able to walk to the games from where we lived, in de Watergraafsmeer in the eastern part of Amsterdam. You will have a great time I am sure. Tell us all about it when you come back
