Fall is here See some pretties

In Alaska, that is. We've had our first frost, though it was not a hard frost. I lost no plants to it.

But it's time to finish getting ready for winter. Got 15 cords cut split and stacked. Put away the "lawn" furniture, etc.

I'm not that fond of browns and fall colors, but I saw 2 sets that are wonderful:

Those are really, really pretty. I am seeing hints that fall is coming down here too. Still having temps close to 100, but it does drop down in to the 60's at night. To me the light is different too. Folks in the surrounding hills have much cooler overnight temps, and fire up the woodstoves and fireplaces to ward off the early morning chill. When I was camping up in Lassen Volcanic National Park last month the temps dipped into the low 40's, high 30's overnight which was a nice break from the heatwave down here in the valley.

Both sets are lovely but that second set just calls my name! I'm not so fond of browns but I love the golds and russets of fall. I miss having fall, living here in central FL as I do.....

Thanks for showing the goodies!
