Gift Exchange Necklace

We had a party/dinner/gift exchange with the animal rescue group I volunteer with, so I made this dachshund necklace for my gift. It was one of those things where someone opens a gift and then the next person can either open a gift or steal a gift that's already opened. It was a hoot.

My necklace was pretty popular and got stolen several times before finally ending up with our director. It was even stolen from her once, but she was able to get it back when someone stole her replacement gift so she was able to make another steal. Too funny.

I made the lampwork bead and the 14K GF chain work. I used brown pearls and black Swarovski crystals for accents. I really wanted to keep it after I made it, so I always figure that's a good sign.

Great necklace, Jerri!! I can see why it was stolen several times. What gift did you get?

Thanks Patti! We started out with a wonderful gift bag with tons of treats, a dog bowl, and a soft toy (Spike loves them and never tears them up.), but then one of the other teen volunteers asked DD if she wanted to trade, so we came home with this cute dog curio (the wood is cut out in the shape of a dog), a dog scarf, and a dog pin. I'd rather have had the first gift, but I told DD she could do what she wanted. The curio is really cute and she wants it up in her room.

Lol. You want to foster a dog? It'd be a long drive for you!

AH, I knew there was a catch to it! Plus my cats... well being cats and all, they hate dogs... LOL
