This seller states clearly the origin of the beads:

Good for them! I hope this becomes a trend that prompts others to follow suit.

Yup. The more the happier I'll be. And we know the world revolves around my happiness.

I believe in the stick AND the carrot.

If I spend time working to get beads listed in the proper categories and also spend time trying to get people to understand the importance of this to those artists whose work and livelihoods depend on it, why not be positive as well?

Not that I expect a carrot but I have done that too, listed beads on ebay as Chinese in global lampwork. I don't carry many but there are a few nice enough that I couldn't help myself. I am in general more on the side of US lampwork being the best and wanting to support that but I can't actually afford to carry them in my shop yet, maybe someday.

The funny thing is I was earching on the net through Yahoo for "wholesale Chinese lampwork" and guess whose site came up three times? :) Kaleras! Lol, it was a paragraph you wrote about not selling wholesale followed by something about global lampwork. I guess I'd leave that up there awhile, maybe make a few converts.

LOL, Ingrid. Poor Kalera but great that people will find that information.

I wrote to the seller in the first message and got a very nice letter back, she was really happy that people noticed her honest and open information on the auction listings.

It hurts people like that as much as the individual lampworkers when companies like AH refuse to disclose the location of manufacture, it makes us ALL look like liars. Trust is so important when you're dealing with people online.
